Draft Administrative Review Tribunal (Guidance and Appeals Panel) Practice Direction

The Law Council of Australia provided a submission to provide feedback on the draft Administrative Review Tribunal (Guidance and Appeals Panel (GAP)) Practice Direction, in advance of the Tribunal’s proposed commencement on
14 October 2024.
We note that the purpose of the draft Practice Direction is to make directions about the practices and procedures applicable to the referral of matters to the GAP, established by Part 5 of the Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2024 (Cth).
This submission has been primarily informed by the contributions by our Federal Administrative Law Reform Working Group, in addition to the Law Institute of Victoria, and our Federal Dispute Resolution Section’s Administrative Law Committee.
