Justice for All report
16 July 2019
The Taskforce on Justice (the Taskforce) is an initiative of the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies – a multi-stakeholder partnership bringing together United Nations member states, international organisations, civil society, and the private sector to accelerate delivery of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets for peace, justice and inclusion.
The Taskforce recently delivered its Justice For All report, identifying global strategies to spearhead progress on achieving SDG 16.3 (access to justice for all). The report substantially drew upon the Law Council’s own Justice Project final report amongst other relevant worldwide research and findings.
On 20 June 2019, the Australian National University recently hosted a seminar for policymakers and academics at which David Steven, Senior Fellow and Associate Director at the New York University’s Center on International Cooperation (the Center), highlighted key global themes from the Taskforce’s report, followed by Law Council staff, who described the Australian access to justice landscape and critical domestic strategies required to meet SDG 16.3.
